Skype is an online VOIP (voice over IP) online telephony service. We have used it to rehearse online with as many as 10 musicians at once.

SendSpace is a free online file sharing. Registered users can create folders to organize their uploaded files. They can email the link to others and share files up to 2 Gigabytes.
Musicians worldwide are using this to send high fidelity files back and forth.
Basecamp is a flexible online project communication tool.
Musicians can:

Post song lyrics and ideas
Discuss demos and mixes
Manage tracking schedules in the studio
